Green Power
LEED 2.2 Requirements:
Provide at least 35% of the building’s electricity from renewable sources by engaging in at least a two-year renewable energy contract. Renewable sources are as defined by the Center for Resource Solutions (CRS) Green-e products certification requirements.
DETERMINE THE BASELINE ELECTRICITY USE
Use the annual electricity consumption from the results of EA Credit 1.
OR
Use the Department of Energy (DOE) Commercial Buildings Energy Consumption Survey (CBECS) database to determine the estimated electricity use.
Submittals (CONSTRUCTION):
- For each Green Power Provider, indicated the Purchase Type, the Green Power / Green-E Tradable Renewable Certificate Provider Name, the total annual green power purchase quantity, and the contract term.
- Provide a narrative describing how the Green Power or Green Tags are purchased. In addition, please provide the following project data and calculation information based on the appropriate compliance path:
Option 1 - Green Power based on Design Energy Cost
- Enter Total Annual Electric Energy Usage from EA credit 1 table 1.8.2 (b).
Option 2 - Green Power based on Actual Energy Consumption
- Enter annual electricity consumption extrapolated from 3 months of post-occupancy electrical utility bill data.
Option 3 - Green Power based on Default Energy Consumption
- Indicate the building type that most closely represents the project.
- Indicate the Building Area (square feet).
- Indicated the Median Electrical Intensity (kWh/sf/yr). AND (For Projects With Special Circumstances)
- Provide an optional narrative to describe any additional comments or notes regarding special circumstances or considerations regarding the project's credit approach. |
