Construction Waste Management: Divert 50% from Disposal
LEED 2.2 Requirements:
Recycle and/or salvage at least 50% of non-hazardous construction and demolition. Develop and implement a construction waste management plan that, at a minimum, identifies the materials to be diverted from disposal and whether the materials will be sorted on-site or commingled. Excavated soil and land-clearing debris does not contribute to this credit. Calculations can be done by weight or volume, but must be consistent throughout.
Submittals (CONSTRUCTION):
- Select units for diverted & landfill waste calculation (Tons or Cubic Yards).
- Complete the diverted construction waste calculation table. The following information will be required to fill in these tables: general description of each type/category of diverted/recycled materials; receiving agent (hauler or location) for material; and quantity of waste diverted/recycled (by category) in tons or cubic yards.
- Complete the landfill construction waste calculation table. The following information will be required to fill in these tables: general description of each type/category of landfilled materials ; receiving agent (hauler or location) for waste; and quantity of waste landfilled (by category) in tons or cubic yards.
