The Council consists of leaders and influencers in Central Texas who serve as a think tank resource for the Chapter Board. Its members advise the Board on an as-needed basis on matters relating to strategic and sensitive/political issues, advocacy, marketing, communications and development activities. Council Members are invited by the Chapter Board to participate. |

The Executive Committee implements the policies and procedures established by the Board. It also assists the Chapter Chair in implementing the Chapter’s day-to-day operations, including coordination of Board and committee activities, management of Chapter finances, coordination of member meetings and activities, and oversight of communications with committees and members. |

The Committee works with the Board and the Executive Director to promote green building and educate the community on green policies, resolve green building procedural roadblocks, and establish relationships with local leaders in line with the Chapter’s overall strategic plan. It encourages local government municipalities and counties within the chapter area to adopt and expand green policies. In addition, the Committee liaises with the Chapter’s state advocacy representative to ensure cohesive messaging and activities. Additionally, the committee fosters green building developments by identifying and resolving permitting conflicts. |

The Committee teaches educational professionals, school boards, and state education officials on how and why to build high performance schools. It also provides guidance to representatives involved in the Green Schools Caucus created in 2009 in the Texas legislature.

The Committee is the highly visible interface with the public. Working with the Executive Director and the Board, the Committee informs media sources about breakthroughs in green building, educates non-members about CT-B Chapter and notifies existing members about Chapter events. A mixture of internal newsletters, e-blasts, articles, brochures and press releases are used to reach various external audiences. The Committee also facilitates membership communications. The Committee’s overall role, working with the Board and the Executive Director, is to communicate efficiently and effectively with contacts in a method in line with the Chapter’s overall strategic plan. |

The Committee leads the recruitment and retention of sponsors and other sources of income for the Chapter, including business sponsors, government/foundation or corporate grants, and individual donations. The Committee works with the Board and the Executive Director to develop and implement a fundraising and sponsorship plan consistent with the Chapter’s overall strategic plan. |

The Committee manages the Board nomination and election process on behalf of the Board. It comprises past chapter leadership, members of the Advisory Council and the Executive Director. The Committee works with the Board and the Executive Director to ensure nominations of new members are in line with the Chapter’s overall strategic plan.

The Committee schedules and delivers LEED courses and workshops. Bringing a course together involves coordinating with the Development Committee to obtain cash and in-kind sponsorships, finding and securing the location and catering, and working with the National USGBC training coordinator and the CT-B Board on other arrangements. High demand courses are identified in conjunction with the Board, scheduled with assistance from National, and promoted by the Communications Committee.

The Committee comprises emerging green professionals with five years or less working experience. The committee has four main goals: advocacy and outreach, education, service and networking. The group provides LEED study groups and hosts events for aspiring architectural, engineering, environmental or other professionals interested in green building. It also participates in the USGBC Natural Design Competition. |

The Committee focuses on research and technology applications, methods, and tools that will accelerate knowledge transfer and enable our regional community to design and build with greater sustainability. The Committee provides an understanding of the budget in order to control and protect the monies belonging to the CT-B Chapter. The Board's Treasurer is the Finance Committee chair and he/she follows the fiscal policies established by the Chapter. The treasurer records financial transactions, presents financial reports at each Board meeting, and allows for audits on a regular basis to ensure fiscal responsibility.

The Committee educates commercial brokers, commercial building owners, property managers, and tenants including investors, hoteliers and retailers, from the private sector on the demand and accelerated implementation of green building. The initiative's goal is not only to build demand and accelerate implementation of green building practices but also encourage greater private sector involvement in USGBC's activities. |
