San Antonio Mayor Julián Castro will open the forum by addressing the importance of long-term planning and conservation to secure our future water supply and the need to achieve a regional solution. He then will introduce special guest and Speaker of the Texas House, Joe Straus. The Speaker will focus on the role of the Texas Legislature in addressing often-contentious state and regional water issues

The Clean Technology Forum event will be held in conjunction with public hearings (that same morning and/or afternoon) at City Council chambers of the Texas House Interim Committee on Natural Resources chaired by state Rep. Allan Ritter, R-Nederland.

In summary, this program is being developed to present a number of critically important regional water supply issues that are not well known and understood in our community. There are few issues more important to San Antonio’s future than that of the supply and management of our water resources.@
