Double LEED Building Tour - Higher Education Institution Facilities

Where: Southwestern University
1001 E University McCombs Campus Center Georgetown, TX 78626

Two new buildings at Southwestern University are complete and ready for tours. Interested parties will be given the opportunity to have a walking tour through the two buildings listed above on Friday, March 12. Tours will be led by project team members. Parking is available, but some walking is required.

  • Admissions Center (LEED-NC Gold)

The one-story, 9,600 square foot Wilhelmina Cullen Admission Center is the starting point for prospective students to learn about Southwestern University and its academic and student life programs. Bamboo flooring, exposed custom wood trusses, and large skylights highlight the warm and open interior of the building.

  • ‎Center for Lifelong Learning (Candidate for LEED-NC Silver)

The three-story, 40,300 square foot Charles and Elizabeth Prothro Center for Lifelong Learning will serve as a hub for a variety of student services that were previously located in five different facilities across campus. It also will serve as the home for Southwestern’s Paideia® Program, a three-year program that helps students make connections between what they are learning in the classroom and the world around them.  The building palette and circulation recognize and reinforce existing campus elements in concert with engagement, a fundamental tenet of the building and university programs.
