| South Central Regional Committee
The rapid growth and establishment of Chapters across the United States prompted the U.S. Green Building Council to create a new mechanism for communication. In 2005, Chapters within the USGBC self organized into eight regions enabling the chapters to work together more effectively and speak with a unified voice. Our Chapter is part of the South Central Regional Committee (SCRC), which includes a total of five chapters from Texas, Louisiana and Oklahoma. The purpose of the SCRC is to improve communication between Chapters, provide support and share best practices and resources.
Our Regional Committee consists of a group of representatives elected from the Chapters that make up the SCRC; Two representatives are chosen from each Chapter. Each Regional Committee also elects a representative from their region to serve as a National Board Member. The Central Texas - Balcones representatives are Kathy Zarsky, who serves as the Chapter representative, and John Walewski, who is the Chapter's Associate member.
The Committee meets monthly via conference call and attends three face-to-face meetings per year. For more information on the Regional Committee please feel free to contact Kathy Zarsky. |
