| Volunteer with USGBC Central Texas-Balcones Chapter |
USGBC CT-B is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization that depends on the help and dedication of its volunteers. Without volunteers who provide outreach, financial support and implementation of our programs, we would not achieve our mission.
The number one way to help is to become a Chapter Member - CLICK HERE TO JOIN NOW. If you are already a Chapter Member, thank you.
Other ways to volunteer are to serve as:
- Committee Members: are committed to work throughout the year on a specific committee
- Major Event Organizing Committee members: work on specific tasks within an individual event's organizing committee
- Ad-hoc Committee-Specific Volunteers: have an explicit interest in assisting one committee on an as-needed basis
- Ad-Hoc Volunteers: have expressed general interest in volunteering with the Chapter from time-to-time on a per-request and agreement basis for example in Advocacy, on organization of major events and fundraisers, presenting or teaching as part of the Chapter's speakers bureau.
Every year our Chapter produces a variety of activities including Lunch-n-Learns, green building tours, LEED education workshops and study groups, major events such as an annual lecture series, a Green School symposium, Taking the LEED for the Future symposium, and Technology & Research Forums.
We are also actively involved in advocacy, including working with our sister Texas chapters on advocacy issues, serving on task forces at the local, regional and national levels, working with Mayors and State representatives to promote green schools, and partner with related organizations to encourage the public and private sectors to engage in sustainable building and land development practices.
For descriptions of the committees on which you might like to serve visit the Board & Committee page on the About section. For any other questions on how you can volunteer, email ED@usgbc-centraltexas.org.
Sign up to volunteer today and help drive the transformation toward sustainable building and land development practices in Central and South Texas through innovation, education, advocacy and partnerships. |

The Texas Statewide Advocacy Committee seeks well-spoken, energetic volunteers with a passion for politics and a good knowledge of at least one facet of green building to help us advance legislation and other state-wide green building efforts. The commitment includes a monthly teleconference, and 3-4 hours per month of focused effort on activities such as event planning, strategic brainstorming, and coordination with other like-minded organizations.
